FAIRFAX, VA (July 27, 2022)—The Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology’s (JVIR’s) Impact Factor—one measure of a journal’s influence based on the number of article citations compared to the total number of citable articles published—increased 6% in 2021.

According to the Journal Citation Reports, published by Clarivate Analytics, JVIR’s Impact Factor improved to 3.682 in 2021, up from 3.464 in 2020.

“This increase in our Impact Factor shows that JVIR continues to be the journal of record for evidence supporting minimally invasive image-guided treatments,” said Daniel Y. Sze, MD, PhD, FSIR, the editor-in-chief of JVIR and professor of interventional radiology at Stanford University School of Medicine. “The increase in our Impact Factor reflects the high quality of the scientific research we publish and the trust the global interventional radiology community places in our journal.”

The Impact Factor, which reflects citations in the previous two years, is often used as a measure of the quality and influence of medical journals within scientific, professional and academic communities. The highest rated journal devoted exclusively to interventional radiology, JVIR’s citations appeared in interventional radiology journals, as well as in journals of allied fields including diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine, oncology, gastroenterology/hepatology, and vascular disease. Learn more at jvir.org.
