The IR residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham has an opening for July 1, 2025. UAB is one of the largest hospitals in the United States, with a busy transplant and trauma services. The Division of Interventional Radiology performs a high volume of procedures each year with excellent diversity of cases and resident autonomy. IR residents routinely perform more than 1,000 procedures each year. The Division has an inpatient consultation service as well as a robust ambulatory clinic.

Ideally, interested applicants should be in the R3/PGY4 year at current but others are encouraged to apply as well. This would be an excellent opportunity for a resident from a non-ESIR residency program who is applying for the Independent IR residency this cycle to save a whole year of training!
