This month's journal based article is titled: Ultrasound-Guided Popliteal Sciatic Nerve Block: A Minimally Invasive Method for Pain Control During Endovascular Treatment of Critical Limb Ischemia. This is a single center retrospective study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of ultrasound-guided popliteal sciatic nerve block (PCNB) in patients undergoing below-the-knee endovascular interventions for the management of critical limb ischemia (CLI).

Following completion of this CME activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Discuss the safety and effectiveness of popliteal sciatic nerve blocks.
  2. Understand patients who may benefit from nerve block.
  3. Describe the technique for popliteal sciatic nerve block.

This program is designed to meet the educational needs of interventional radiologists, nurses, techs, and trainees at all levels with special interest in patients with critical limb ischemia.
