Kylie Zane, MD: Residents, Fellows, and Students (RFS) Section Clinical Advancement Award recipient
Congratulations to Kylie Zane, MD, the recipient of this year's Residents, Fellows, and Students (RFS) Section Clinical Advancement Award.
Dr. Zane is a third-year resident (PGY-3) at the University of Chicago, where she has developed a code simulation course aimed at IR nurses, technologists and fellow IR residents. The goal is to help all IR personnel feel more comfortable and competent in managing code situations in the IR suite. The course covers essential topics, such as the use of oropharyngeal airways, non-rebreather masks and the administration of pushable drugs, while providing basic information about the location of code equipment. Over the past year, Dr. Zane's efforts have successfully trained approximately 40 IR personnel.
The RFS Clinical Advancement Award recognizes one exceptional resident each year who demonstrates a strong commitment to expanding their clinical skills, dedication to patient care and contributions to interventional radiology during their early postgraduate training.
