Carrier Advocacy Coverage Letter for Genicular artery embolization (GAE)

The Genicular Artery Embolization evidence based letter was written by IR Physicians that are members of SIR's carrier advocacy workgroup. The letter is intended to help IR's during the authorization, appeal and denial process with any payor denying this service.

Policy coverage topic: Genicular artery embolization (GAE) for the treatment of knee pain including but not limited to degenerative joint disease; osteoarthritis of the knee; treatment prior to or following knee replacement; or as a treatment for patients who are not candidates for knee replacement surgery.
